It's Sunday afternoon in NYC. It's hot and humid. As I walked down the street and stopped at the fruit stand for a bottle of cold water. After my purchase I turned the corner on Broadway and saw a line from the building. As I enterd the buliding. I showed my press pass to security and step on the elevator. The doors open and the place was buzzing with people. I found my seat and was happy to see a lot of people turned out for the event. In the crowd was founders of plus size sites, fashion writers etc....the wait staff was in high demand. As they serve wine and pastries.
Gwen Devoe, CEO of Devoe signature events and the MC started the show. The music started the intro song was "Big girls don't cry" the in mixed into "Holla Back Girl" The first collection was from size queen.
As the first model step on the runway with poms poms and I knew this would be a great show.
Size Queen by designer Bertha Markowicz is all about fabulous, sexy, wild and fun. The flowing colorful panels on the skirts was a fun accessory that you won't find in any dept store.Photo:(left) Designer: Size Queen Model Lissa
The show continued with lots of energy. A few problems arose with the mic and the cd kept skipping. But, that didn't slow down a thing. The D.J. kept the party going with great music. Among the models was Ms. Plus America Erica Collins. The crowd was pump up with excitement as the runway was on fire with jaw dropping fashion.
